HURON — The Mitchell girls golf team edged Aberdeen Central for a Huron Invitational title on Thursday.

Playing at Huron’s Broadland Creek Golf Course, the Kernels carded a 314 and the Golden Eagles shot a 315. Watertown (342), O’Gorman JV (344) and Rapid City Stevens (356) rounded out the top-five teams.

Individually, Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun shot a 1-over-par 73 to earn the medalist honors. She shot a 35 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine. 

Mitchell’s Allison Meyerink carded 2-over-par 74 to finish one stroke back. Aberdeen Central’s Emma Dohrer (76) and Mitchell’s Quinn Dannenbring (78) finished third and fourth, respectively.

Watertown’s Gabi Olson (79) and Aberdeen Central’s Kyley Wirebaugh (79) tied for fifth.
